Juvenile community service

A person under the age of 21 years can be sentenced to juvenile community service if this is appropriate and if the offender consents.

A person sentenced to juvenile community service serves his/her sentence by performing unpaid work for a certain number of hours.

Care of young persons

A person under the age of 21 years can be sentenced to juvenile care if he/she is in particular need of care as prescribed in the Social Services Act or the Care of Young Persons (Special Provisions) Act. If a person under the age of 18 years commits a crime, he/she can be sentenced to closed juvenile care for a certain period of time instead of imprisonment.
